Tour de France | Mark Cavendish's STUNNING new bike; Jayco AlUla and Cofidis reveal special jerseys

The Tour de France is the race in the sport of cycling that attracts the most attention and so naturally, some teams go all-out to show off special edition jerseys and bikes. Team Jayco AlUla and Cofidis have revealed new colours for the 2024 Grand Boucle whilst Mark Cavendish will ride a new rainbow-coloured bike.

Mark Cavendish will race the Tour with a full leadout backing him up, in a season where Astana Qazaqstan Team also signed former right-hand man Mark Renshaw as a team DS, and former coach Vasilis Anastopoulos once again after the two had collaborated to perfection in 2021 at Soudal - Quick-Step. For the Tour de France, the 'Manx Missile' is also having a special edition bike with plenty colours, which has immediately been well received by cycling fans.

Team Jayco AlUla in the meantime have revealed a very different jersey than their usual design, one inspired by Saudi sponsor AlUla, with plenty colours and symbols all throughout the jersey referencing the city. This kit will also be worn by Liv AlUla Jayco at the Tour de France Femmes.

“The kit design is truly special and really stands out compared to the kit designs that we have had in the past. With great thought gone into every detail of this design, we will wear it with pride during the Tour de France, demonstrating our continued effort to communicate to the world the extraordinary heritage and cultural significance of AlUla," team mannager Brent Copeland said in a press release. "It really is a remarkable place with so many natural wonders waiting to be explored. We hope to achieve the best possible results in this new kit design as a way of showing gratitude to our loyal partner AlUla and Team Owner Gerry Ryan and Jayco.”

Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe also unveiled their new equipment this Wednesday ahead of the Tour but they were not the only one. Under the radar, Cofidis presented their new jersey as well, slightly changing the art style in their white and red jersey which will be worn by the likes of Bryan Coquard and Guillaume Martin in search of Tour success.
