- great point on the chase. is their newfound aggression in tracking down attacks a response to MVDP, Tadej, Wout’s repeated long distance raids? They are no longer surprised by them it seems. can Tadej win in a long distance attack or will the peloton be wiser moving forward? It seems Wout can’t, Mathieu barely can. Tadej did in san remo.
- A guy who won a monument, a grand tour, and the world championship in the same year has the right to consider possibilities that might seem absurd. I don’t think he will succeed, but he might want to try, anyway.
- Mostly I agree, but what if he finds it fun to compete against Seixas and all the rest? He genuinely seems to. So far, every challenger who has arrived has made him better. It will be a few more years, I think, before his body can no longer do what it once did. I suspect he might keep cycling after that, if it remains fun.
- Great to see a win my Marlen just to build some suspense into the coming races.
- If Pogacar goes for GT triple next year, suddenly Jonas will start racing one day races "just because"
- yes he has really evolved. this was impressive. not just the motor but the burst of speed.
- "If he wins all five, he should stop right away and go on holiday so the others can exist. ..."
What an idiotic take
- If you're including Merckx's achievements you should also include Armstrong's one, 7 Tour. Either you take both or neither, both were doped
- By "History will be made", you must mean Mathieu van der Poel winning for the 4th time to hold the outright record. Pogačar winning would put him level with the record on 3, while Evenepoel or van Aert winning wouldn't be history making.
- Really sad, I hope he recovers. He and Abel Balderstone are Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's biggest two climbers, and they've got Sebastian Berwick too. With Gaviria to sprint and Alex Molenaar and then Iuri Leitão to lead him out, and Jakub Otruba and Joel Nicolau for the breakaway, they could field a strong team. But that hinges of Jãume recovering.
