VIDEO | Spectator footage shows Tadej Pogacar's collision with Team Visma | Lease a Bike car

At the start of stage 19 Tadej Pogacar said himself that he had a small collision with a Team Visma | Lease a Bike car whilst in the paddock area. Whilst this happened away from any TV broadcast, spectator footage in Vif has now revealed what happened.

In a video that has been circulating on social media, it is possible to see the small 'break check' that happened. Albeit not with the best quality, the clip clearly shows Pogacar and several UAE Team Emirates - XRG teammates riding behind a Visma car that slowed in the busy area. The yellow jersey didn't break in time and hit the car, although without any major consequence.

In words to ITV in the morning the Tour's leader described what happened at that moment: “We were cruising behind the Visma car, maybe a bit too close. Then suddenly he brake checked me. I wasn’t ready because the way was clear. I don’t know why he braked.”

“Maybe their driver wanted to test my brakes?” he laughed. “I hit my chin a little bit, but everything is okay - nothing’s wrong". The incident certainly had no impact in Pogacar's performance in the afternoon, who went on to defend his race lead and even extend it on Jonas Vingegaard.
