  Jonas will likely be in the best form of his career for the Tour. The problem is, so will Tadej. And UAE is ridiculously stacked. I think once again the fight for the 3rd spot on the podium and the Green jersey will be the most interesting things to follow during the race.

  Just that supporting the best rider is boring, there's no real thrill in my opinion. It's the same with any other sport for me. Likewise it's impossible for me to support van der Poel in cyclo-cross.

  why are you not a fan out of curiosity? I am, he seems like a great guy. but of course this is my opinion, doesn't make either of us right. I love watching him to appreciate his greatness. Like a person might enjoy Mozart, the Beatles, Van Gogh, etc. It is amazing to watch a master like Tadej work. He is that great to me. And seems like a really decent human being.

  That's a dumb way to look at it. If you diminish his rivals you automatically diminish Pogi's achievement. I prefer to think of Pogi racing against some absolute legends of cycling . MvdP, WVA, Jonas, Remco, Roglic (a few years back) and taking it another level beyond them.

  Damn! We all knew he would win the GC, but not on first stage! Maybe that will make the other 3 race stages more "breakway" active! Would love to see MVP win a stage!
