Trek - Segafredo are early hitters in the 2022/2023 transfer season as they have reportedly confirmed already the renewal of another of their leaders, Mads Pedersen who is said to have signed for an extra three seasons with the team.
The news were advanced by Het Laatste Nieuws. The 26-year old has been with the American team since 2017 and has in it developed as one of the most prolific riders in the peloton. Besides having been World champion in Yorkshire 2019, Pedersen has also developed in the cobbled classics which has seen him win classics such as Gent-Wevelgem and Kuurne-Bruxels-Kuurne, and also on the sprints - having this year already won four stages, all in sprint scenarios. His punchy climbing abilities and endurance see him as a dangerous mix of rider who can tackle many terrains.
He will continue to be a leader of Trek's classics ambitions, aswell as being the leader of it's leadouts. This comes after a round of signing which includes the renovation of Jasper Stuyven, the long-term contract with veteran Bauke Mollema and the explosive signing of Thibau Nys. Trek are being able to keep their leaders, pointing towards a very good chemistry within the team.
