"To get on the podium would be incredible" - Florian Lipowitz close to a dream result at Dauphiné

Florian Lipowitz's explosion at the Criterium du Dauphiné 2025 was incredible. Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe truly have a gem in their hands. The German who could take over the baton from Primoz Roglic, is one stage away from concluding on the podium against the cycling's biggest stars.

In fact, Lipowitz is currently 3rd overall, only behind the unstoppable Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard. The two superstars from UAE and Visma have been the only ones who have performed better than Florian in the mountains. So, the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider is the best of the "humans".

On the Valmeinier climb, which decided the seventh stage, Florian Lipowitz crossed the finish line third to put himself 1 minute and 50 seconds ahead of Remco Evenepoel. The 24-year-old ex-biathlete has the overall podium in his sights, and that is precisely his dream.

"This stage was very difficult from the beginning. I'm happy with the way we rode and the feeling we had as a team. I controlled my effort on the final climb, suffered a lot in the last 5 kilometers, and felt very relieved when I reached the final kilometer," began Lipowitz.

"I hope to have the ideal legs tomorrow to tackle the final stage. To get on the podium of the Criterium du Dauphiné would be incredible, but it's certainly not going to be easy," concluded the leader of youth competition.
