he is definitely pretty confident, but the animosity is next level.22-04-2026 14:59

I don't understand the hatred shown towards him. He seems like a decent guy, he is very popular in the peloton, his teammates love him. yes he gets heated during competition, but he is trying to win. and he has big goals for himself, which I respect him setting. people disliked him even before he started talking about his religion - which is also good for him, let him practice the faith he wants - people show irrational hatred towards him.21-04-2026 00:20

This is 17 riders. A quick search shows 15 have died in training rides in the same time. Which basically makes my point. The chance of a career ending injury in training vs racing is about the same. So the”risk” of racing Roubaix exists. But it is equal to training. Go ahead an argue more because that’s all you like to do as the sage of all things cycling.20-04-2026 02:41

my qualifying comment - anyone can get knocked out for a season or life - on a training ride seems to be ignored. other than the acute and tragic heart issue for Michael Goolaerts during Roubaix, it seems (anecdotally, I'm not doing research) that some of the biggest accidents have come as a result of training rides. so to pull out of Roubaix to save oneself from horrific injury is no guarantee one will not have a horrific injury. even to substitute Roubaix for "safer" races is no guarantee. Ask Jonas or again Remco. and to directly answer your question, ask Michael Matthews, Leonard Kamna, Mike Teunissen, Pidcock and more about injuries and altitude camp accidents. they might disagree with your comment about altitude training camp accidents and issues. go ahead and share your "expertise" with the world again LOL with a rebuttal.16-04-2026 15:18

I swear you like to hear yourself speak. Each race is a jigsaw puzzle meaning they’re all different. And continually trying to fit the pieces makes one a winner. ie, the more one races it the more likely one is to win.15-04-2026 08:53
