The TDF organisers choice of the route more or less settles the winner(s). For the sake of publicity and money they prefer larger nations and of course France to be favored. Now we suddenly, out of nowhere, have 2 time trials, and none of these is a mountain time trial. Obviously it favour Seixas and Remco massively. TDF is becoming increasingly political and money focused. Shame on the organisers.19:07

Very good points and concerns you mention, it is well taken.. Since I have no acces to the CT images already available I describe likely scenarios. To secure that the non-dislocated C7 fracturure heals unproblematic serial CT images will be performed frequently A theoretic but statistically unlikely problem, could be if the fracture involved the canal where the C7 nerve root departs, and more repair bone is generated that compress the nerve. That is very unlikely and can be easily solved by surgery. Tadej is so beloved, not only because he is the undisputed best rider, but also because he is humid, generous and humuoristic and boyish positive and competitive. guy My guess he will be back as strong as ever in the 2027 season. His worst enemy could be himself if he does not take the needed time to recover, but hopefully he will listen to independant sane medical advisors.30-08-2026 21:57

Absolutely advice that makes sense. although for the wrong reason .I am not worried about the the C7 bone fracture itself, since it is not dislocated and should normally heal within 8-10 weeks, and when completely healed the fractured location is usually stronger than before or at least as strong. Bone health among bikers are not as good as most other atlethes due the restricted food and low body mass. Complete healing can be secured by CT- scan and/or other imaging devices. My concern is rather, that Tadej for sure, has signs and symptoms of a Whiplash Associated Disorder in the severe category with neck pain and vertebra fracture. In other words he has had a concussion of the cervical spine in addition to concussion of the the brain. Thus to avoid longterm or even life long consequences of these concussions, the time horizon for safe rehabilitation is quite long, and premature come back will be a hazard for Tadejs lifetime health. Stop talking about a speedy comeback in this case, hope is not a strategy. Pro riders risk their health and life every day on the road to entertain us. They should not be treated as gladiators who can be returned to the Colosseum as soon as possible. Fortunately the prognosis for Tadej is good but he needs time.30-08-2026 12:11

I hope he has a complete recovery. Speedy would be welcomed but secondary and not important. He needs to take his time because the crash was brutal and mean. God bless that he was not paralyzed with a fractured C7, that if dislocated could have crushed his spine, and God bless that he has no brain damage after his face hit the asphalt which sometimes causes basal skull fracture. He obviously had concussion and appeared disoriented. Most likely he will be back as the world best cyclist in the next season. Everybody just have to be happy, that he will not suffer any permanent deficits.29-08-2026 23:02

While there is no doubt that Pogi is one of the best riders ever and currently the best second to none, i do not think it makes sense to compare him to to previous stars where bikes had weight of 2-3 fold modern bike weight and technology and food was inferior.27-07-2026 20:24
