INEOS Grenadiers sign former World Champion Tobias Foss until 2026

INEOS Grenadiers continues to focus on the time-trials. The British team continue to be a thriving team in this field and have signed another quality figure: former time-trial World Champion Tobias Foss.

A transfer that had been rumoured for months, however frequently changing. It was unsure if the Norwegian rider would be moving on from Jumbo-Visma or moving elsewhere - and if so, to where exactly. That answer has been answered this morning as the British team announce Foss' signing on a three-year deal.

Confidence is put into Foss as the team agrees on a long-term deal. The 26-year old developed in his early years as a stage-racer, winning the 2019 Tour de l'Avenir and turning pro with Jumbo-Visma in 2020. Everything seemed to be in place for his evolution into the top of the sport taking into consideration his time-trialing ability, but he didn't take the leap in that field. Foss was 9th at the 2021 Giro d'Italia but has since been absent from the top of stage-racing.

In 2022 he shocked the cycling world to win the time-trial World Championships in Wollongong. It was a very strong performance but one he struggled to replicate this year as he comes out without a victory. Foss was fourth at the Volta ao Algarve and that was ultimately the highlight of his season. He was forced to abandon the Tour de Romandie whilst fighting for the podium, he tested positive for Covid-19 which also took him out of the Giro d'Italia - with this, he didn't race any Grand Tour this season.
