Primoz Roglic has again been caught up in a crash at the 2024 Tour de France and with just 10km to go on stage 12, the Slovenian faces a race against time to get into the peloton by the end of the day.
As the stress levels began to rise before the inevitable bunch sprint, Alexey Lutsenko of the Astana Qazaqstan Team flipped scarily over his handle bars in the middle of the bunch, bringing a Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe rider down head over heels on top of him. Whilst it was clear initially if it was Roglic himself, the entire team of the Slovenian were working hard to get back into the bunch.
When Roglic crossed the line, the cuts and scrapes all down his right side were visible, showing it was in fact Roglic who had crashed. In the end, it was a 2:27 deficit on the day for the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe leader.

Roglic has a history of crashing. One of the top rules in cycling is don't put yourself in a bad position. Much like driving a car leave yourself an out if something goes wrong in front or next to you. As your team's GC, stay next to the team rider assigned to guide you in the flats and then maybe another one in the mountain.

Also riders riding on their own edge are more likely to crash. Everyone can get tired and bike handling suffers.

There goes Primoz' hopes for a podium placing. He looked pretty banged up as he crossed the line.

the dude cant get a break. A very freak crash , only he of all the GC contenders gets the worst of it. Why did his team not keep him in the front.
