Stage 7 of the Tour de Suisse begins with a cloudy mood over the peloton, but also without another group of riders. Three teams are not taking to the start of the stage, with Bahrain - Victorious included as they head home to heal wounds.
"Following the tragic loss of Gino Mäder, Team Bahrain Victorious has taken the decision to withdraw from Tour de Suisse," the team wrote on social media. The news were followed by the abandon of two more teams before the start of today's stage, Switzerland's Tudor Pro Cycling Team and also Intermarché - Circus - Wanty. The stage will have it's final 25 kilometers neutralized for the GC riders today, in what will be an interesting day of racing between the sprinters and classics riders.

Following the tragic accident of Gino Mäder, and after discussing with our riders and staff, team Intermarché-Circus-Wanty has decided to withdraw from #TourdeSuisse. Our priority is to respect our riders’ wellbeing. All our thoughts go to Gino’s family, friends and teammates.
After careful consideration and talking to both riders and staff, the team decided not to continue racing this year‘s Tour de Suisse. Under these difficult circumstances we feel it is the human way to respect the feelings of our riders and pay respect to Gino.
