- There's not an ounce of fat in a professional riders' body, So all that weight advantage translates to muscle strength. When Tadej first won Flanders, he was asked if Paris-Roubaix would be next. He said he'll have to gain 20 lbs more body weight to be competitive. He's not clueless.
- It's actually wiry body, huge legs.. Look at the body weights of the top 15-20 Paris-Roubaix finishers.. Tadej is 66kg, all the rest are 74kg and above. It's a sprinter's classic, perfectly flat. Tell me a rider who weighs below 68 kg who can outsprint Jonathan Milan.. where do sprinters get their power when they stand on the pedals? Why is Jonathan Milan top sprinter? He's 6' 4" and 85 kgs.
- Thank you for that, makes it easier to all use the same figures even though of course these have to be taken with a lot of salt.
- You miss the point, and as for your frog, wirey legs, huge body, not the most appropriate comparison.
Again, going back to the original claim that someone like MVDP's 10 extra kg is mostly muscle is contradicted by population weight/height comparisons, which are incredibly informative as based on huge data sets and distinct for almost every country.
If you are REALLY interested in discussing the matter, please first look up Slovenian and Dutch growth curves for men as background info even if we discuss it using global averages.
I would even go as far as stating that PROPORTIONALLY, Tadej has more muscle mass than MVDP
- Unless it's football or peanuts, sponsors only look for proven value. Cycling being a niche sport, anything other than the TDF doesn't justify high expenditure in French corporate eyes. For French money he basically has to show himself at the Tour so exploitable populism can start. He doesn't need to win but content is needed to make stories and dreams, the vast majority of consumers still have no idea he exists.
- That’s right. The Godfather. One of the most iconic movie quotes ever.
Good clip there 👌🏻
- in the last 20 years of racing, a NON-EXTENSIVE list of racing deaths:

And before you go claiming obscureness, these were all PRO road cyclists during racing, there are many more if you count track, endurance, para and other disciplines or pro/am racing.
- Yes.Pogacar has no experience racing in difficult terrain. What in God's name are you smoking????
- To be honest, it’s pretty obvious. Pogi doing Roubaix because he needs a challenge isn’t news.
- Good luck with the recovery Micheal.
