zero percent chance Jonas attacks. this not a day that remotely suits him

odd final paragraph: That cautious approach may not have delivered the Maglia Rosa on Stage 1, but after the scenes in Burgas, Visma will likely view the opening day as mission accomplished. this was never a stage for Jonas, who in their right mind would have thought this stage could deliver the pink jersey. plus why would he want it on stage 1???

From what I saw it had nothing to do with the barriers. Uno X rider overlapped a wheel and couldn’t recover sending himself into the middle of the peloton. Just another chaotic sprint in a grand tour.

Sure, those type of barriers can pose a risk, but the riders were nowhere near the barriers when the crash occurred. They were all in the middle of the road, and the crash was caused by all of the typical pushing, shoving, and a resulting touch of wheels that often occurs in sprint finishes like this.
