Tour de Suisse will continue with last 25 km of stage 7 neutralised for GC riders

The 2023 Tour of Suisse will continue on Saturday and Sunday. After the tragic death of Gino Mäder, race director Olivier Senn questioned this. After consultation with, among others, CPA and UCI, the organization decided on Friday evening to continue the race with few adjustments for Saturday.

After careful consideration, the organization informed the teams on Friday evening that stage seven will take place on the original course according to official time schedules. The time differences for the general classification will be taken 25 kilometers before the end of the stage however.

For the latter, the organization is still waiting for approval from the UCI. In that case, the classification riders no longer have to worry about losing time after that point. However, a stage win is still at stake. The eighth and final stage on Sunday will take place under normal conditions. The ITT should decide the general classification.
