By the final lap, she enjoyed a gap of over 30 seconds. "When I saw it was above 20 seconds, I was able to temporise. The last two laps I was a bit more at ease."
She currently leads in overall classification though
Inge van der Heijden is just behind her. "Of course, but the gap with the number two is now four points. And it's on places, not on time. So that's already another four places she has to make up."
She is very much satisfied with the victory. "It always does a lot of good to win, no matter who is at the start. You have to do it yourself anyway. It's very nice that it worked out today," concluded Alvarado.
