After a rather bleak few months in the Classics,
Soudal - Quick-Step showed signs of life at the Amstel Gold Race, with
Mauri Vansevenant finishing just off the podium in 4th. Ahead of
La Fleche Wallonne however, 'The Wolfpack' are realistic about their chances.
“We know that we aren’t the favourites for this race, but we have a very strong team and we start with huge motivation and confidence after our strong outing in Amstel, where we came so close to a podium after going on the offensive early," assesses Soudal - Quick-Step sports director,
Klaas Lodewyck as he announces the team's lineup for the race. "We’ll see how the race goes, but we believe in our chances of getting a good result at the end of the day.”
After his impressive Amstel Gold Race, Vansevenant again features and will be hopeful of carrying that good form into this race. Strong climbers such as
Ilan Van Wilder,
James Knox,
Pieter Serry and
Louis Vervaeke also feature as do
Antoine Huby,
Pepijn Reinderink.
