Greg van Avermaet, who was not selected to ride the Tour causing surprise, will be preparing for the latter part of the season here, as he described his upcoming schedule: "I trained for the last two weeks in Spain to prepare for the second part of the season... The routes suit me and I hope to start the end of the season well before participating in the Tour du Limousin and the Tour of Germany to prepare for the Grands Prix Cyclistes Québec and Montréal, two great objectives"
"In Wallonia, there are two or three stages which should give me good indications of my current form even if the sensations are already good. I am motivated to achieve great results;" he concluded.
