He finished sixth in the stage and cut three places in the overall to finish seventh. Undoubtedly, good sensations before the Tour de France:
"Not such a good day, but a good day on the bike, a good day in this race, Lenny had better legs today, I played for the win and finished sixth. To be honest, I'm happy with the performance thinking about the Tour and we're going home with good feelings in our legs."
In statements to the race organizers, the
Movistar Team rider insisted that what had happened at the end of the stage was that Lenny Martinez had better legs, although he was satisfied with his work and that of the team and also looking at what this could mean for the next Tour de France:
"I had good legs, but as it turned out he had better legs than me so I can only congratulate him and Bahrain and thank my team for working hard for me all week, we finished with a stage win for Ivan (Romeo). I think the team is happy."
It is clear that Enric is still not an explosive cyclist, but also that trying can only bring him good things: today it wasn't the stage win, but thanks to riding on the attack he managed to gain 3 positions in the final classification of Dauphiné. And given the competition in this year's edition, the seventh place is by no means a bad result.
