What does he need to pay Pogi to lead him out?04-12-2025 22:08

Ayuso is not a surprise if you look at his previous 5yrs.04-12-2025 20:37

Narrow bars with a longer stem largely cancel one another out. They also don't keep Pogi, Jonas or Pidcock from being outstanding descenders. I don't want them on a mountain bike at lower speeds. But they're really fine at high speeds on pavement.01-12-2025 09:06

I really don't think they did. They had some very bad luck with Bernal who'd likely have as good a shot at coming in second to Pogi as anyone else if it weren't for his crash. And they had other podiums with Thomas as an older rider which is truly incredible.30-11-2025 06:50

Its easy to find those speeds and extrapolate in relation to equipment. Pogi is head and shoulders above everyone as a GC rider. Classics are a bit harder to tell because tactics have such a huge effect on finishing times, along with weather. In classics, I'm certain Eddy would ride with today's best...especially considering he had major problems from a leg length discrepancy that would be easily fixed today. Pogi would absolutely drop this guy early though, as would MVDP. *He was beating Eddie towards the end of Eddie's peak. And like with many that can occasionally pip Pogi today, they're able to do it solely because classics are secondary to him.30-11-2025 06:37

You were very likely just a natural runner that was previously cycling and didn't really know any better. It happens. *I was a 320lb, all-American shot putter. Injuries ended my career in college and I starved off 130lbs biking. I had no idea that I had the physiology to race bikes and eventually got to race internationally and even hit the Olympic standard in the pursuit before I was removed for London.25-11-2025 08:38

Not sure if you know this but these guys are cyclists and fairly heavy cyclists at that.25-11-2025 08:33

For sure, and as noted, he was overweight at the time. But I still have serious doubts he was at 92 and I have no doubts whatsoever that he used PEDs. *Indurain is reported to have been at 88 for VO2. Considering his size, I'd say it's possible for someone Greg's size to win in the low 80s. IF he was at 92.5, he certainly underperformed.22-11-2025 19:44
