Update: Jonas Vingegaard is on a training camp in French Alps, reconing 2024 Tour de France route

Usually there is a pretty straightforward layout of forces one month ahead of the Tour de France. But that won't be the case in 2024. Itzulia Basque Country shuffled the cards of the main favourites to stand on the Champs-Élysées with the biggest reason to smile.

Amidst all the mysteries surrounding the pre-race favourites, there is one name that stands out more than other. Unsurprisingly it's the winner of last two editions Jonas Vingegaard, who suffered a long list of injuries in the crash in April and even his start at the Tour was put in danger.

But the worst seems to be the matter of the past and the Dane has been already spotted fine-tuning his form for July in multiple locations, most recently in Mallorca.

Now we've finally received a brief update also from his team Visma | Lease a Bike, revealing that Vingegaard has travelled to France. Presumably to recon few Tour stages, but it wouldn't be too surprising if the plan was to complete a short training camp in the beautiful French Alps.

Critérium du Dauphiné will take place in the location at approximately same time and thus it only makes sense that Vingegaard could then join up with his teammates riding the French stage race to get in some training kilometers.
