The Giro d'Italia has ended, and we have got fresh rankings when it comes to the riders and UCI points. Tadej Pogacar has significantly increased his lead, whilst Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic lost a lot of positions over this new update. Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert enter the podium and Top10 respectively.
Ever since the previous update, a lot has changed, but not when it comes to the lead of the ranking. Tadej Pogacar had a 600-point lead over Jonas Vingegaard, now he is 3700 points ahead of the Dane - his closest rival still. It is an immense leap after winning six stages, the overall and KOM classification at the Giro d'Italia that he has dominated. A meaningful statement by the Slovenian who is nowhere to be matched by any of his rivals anytime soon - specially with the Tour de France closely approaching.
We have meaningful changes at the top, as the points of Primoz Roglic, Mads Pedersen and Remco Evenepoel of the 2023 Giro are now gone, and fell from 7th to 13th, 4th to 5th and 3rd to 5th respectively. Vingegaard remains in second whilst Mathieu van der Poel rises to third place; Jasper Philipsen is now in 4th. Juan Ayuso, Adam Yates, Marc Hirschi and Wout van Aert (replacing Roglic) complete the new Top10.
The Giro has given a good amount of points to a big amount of riders, and we can now see them in the rankings well present. Daniel Martínez entered the Top100 and climbed directly to 27th spot; Ben O'Connor climbed from 27th to 14th; Antonio Tiberi is now 49th after climbing from outside the Top100; Thymen Arensman did the same and is now 74th; Einer Rubio climbed from 99th to 82nd; whilst winner of the points classification and sprint dominator Jonathan Milan rose from 43rd to 26th. Jhonatan Narváez also rose from 57th to 29th.
