Bahrain - Victorious had several rider caught up in the crash that took place with ten kilometers to go on stage three at the Tour de France, having both their leaders Jack Haig and Damiano Caruso shed a little time.
The duo arrived 39 seconds after stage winner Dylan Groenewegen, part of a small peloton that included aswell the likes of Chris Froome and Rigoberto Urán who will possibly be general classification contenders later in the race. The team had it's riders drop back to limit the losses, and they have been the first true victims of the ever-tense first week.
Whilst Haig finished third at the Vuelta a España last year, Damiano Caruso finished the Giro d'Italia in second place. Both have talked of ambitions to fight for a place in the Top5, and will nevertheless be strong contenders for a Top10 despite the loss.
Stage four from Dunkerque to Calais will be another nervous day, and the team surely learnt it's lesson and will be trying to prevent a second mistake.
