Team DSM-Firmenich at risk of losing another high quality talent - Lorenzo Milesi on INEOS Grenadiers' radar

Team DSM-Firmenich has a long history of leaders and quality riders abandoning before their time. It is always a possibility for some of it's figures, and Lorenzo Milesi may be the next rider to depart towards another squad.

Milesi, age 21, has put himself forward this season with a brilliant set of performances. He turned pro with the Dutch team this year and broke through the headlines in August when he won the under-23 World Championships in the time-trial discipline. His specialty was revealed. Days after he rode to fifth on the road race, and a few weeks later he and DSM won the Vuelta a Espana's team time-trial which saw him put on the red jersey.

Hence he was one of the main figures in August. His season ended a few days after as he crashed out on the sixth stage. He holds a contract with DSM until 2025 however his performances attracted the attention of many other teams. INEOS Grenadiers particularly, according to Gazzetta dello Sport's Ciro Scognamiglio.

INEOS have turned Filippo Ganna into an incredible winner in the discipline over the past few years, and now see their young supertalent Joshua Tarling rise to the top of the cycling world. With the stage-racers and classics specialists tightly bonded with rival teams, the team looks to find itself as the leading figure in the time-trials and Milesi's signing could further bolster it's block.
