Preview. On the 12th of February we've got the Clásica Jaen Paraiso Interior on the menu. The Spanish one-day race has immediately become a very popular event and is one of the few events in the year to be heavily marked by gravel sectors.
No less than 58 kilometers of gravel roads, spread among over a dozen sectors. It truly is a brutal race, which has a relatively calm start, but soon enters difficult and treacherous areas. This year the race is tougher than usual and almost a third of it is off-road. Around Ubeda, the riders tackle a final circuit that is mostly off-road where big differences are expected in an explosive race.
*NOTE: The race has been heavily impacted by strong rains which forced the organizers to change the route. The new course is 158.5 kilometers long and features 17.8 kilometers of gravel sectors.
