Stage 1
Cofidis' Hugo Toumire did not finish today's stage as a result of a crash.
Stage 2
Nothing to note.
Stage 3
Two DNFs to report from stage 3 as Cofidis' Oliver Knight and Jacob Eriksson of the Tudor Pro Cycling Team both abandoning.
Stage 4
Just one rider left the race ahead of the time trial as the XDS Astana Team's Nicolas Vinokurov did not start because of a viral infection.
Stage 5
Five departures to report on stage 5. Team Jayco AlUla's Michael Hepburn was firstly a DNS at the start of the day, then during the stage itself a further four riders were forced to step off their bike.
Louis Vervaeke abandoned after a very nasty crash, leaving the Maillot Jaune Remco Evenepoel down a domestique. Astana's GC hopeful Harold Tejada, who started the day inside the top 10 was also forced to depart, as were both Pascal Ackermann and Johan Price-Pejtersen.
Stage 6
During the sixth day of the race, the first in the mountains, there were several riders abandoning the race. These were Kamil Gradek, Lars Boven, Max Poole, Alessandro De Marchi, Kamiel Bonneu, Louis Rouland and Andreas Kron.
Stage 7
There were three riders who did not begin today's stage: Rudy Molard, Dion Smith and Matteo Trentin.
Stage 8
Domen Novak, Casper Pedersen, Santiago Buitrago, Archie Ryan, Jake Stewart, Ludovic Robeet and Emilien Jeannière all abandoned today's stage.
At the base of the final climb Torstein Traeen, Sergio Higuita, Eddie Dunbar and Paul Seixas were all amongst those involved in a crash in the GC group. The latter rode to the finish on a bike that needed to be switched.
