Heavy rain changes Clásica Jaén Paraiso Interior course - Gravel sectors affected by brutal conditions

The Clásica Jaén Paraiso Interior is one of the most awaited races of the early season, as the riders tackle plenty gravel sectors in southern Spain. The likes of Wout van Aert and Sepp Kuss will be present, but they will have to contend with a shorter route due to the heavy rain that has hit the region. The race will be run on the 12th of February.

The Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior 2024 was going to have 162 kilometers between Baeza and Úbeda, with 58 of them of sterrato and a total of 12 gravel sections. However, the heavy rains that have lashed the province of Jaén in recent hours have meant that the final route has had to be shortened to 158.3 kilometers (2,150 meters of accumulated vertical drop) and has been changed to only four sections of sterrato, all of them in the final part of the race, with a total of 17.9 kilometers. Of course, the final part will be spectacular with three accumulated gravel sections and the final climb through the streets of Úbeda.
