The points classification at the Giro d'Italia will be a battle fought amongst the many sprint stages. The famous Maglia Ciclamino usually falls in the hands of a sprinter, but the presence of Tadej Pogacar threatens to bring that to an end this year.

However, it remains likely that one of the fast men will win this jersey. Among the favourites are defending champion Jonathan Milan; Vuelta a España points classification winner Kaden Groves; and top sprinters such as Olav Kooij and Tim Merlier who come with dedicated leadouts and may want to pursue this jersey if they find their best legs.
