USA Cycling announced its road cycling teams for the UCI World Championships set to take place in Glasgow, Scotland in August.
Leading USA men team will be current polka dot holder at Tour de France - Neilson Powless. He will be accompanied by other strong classics riders such as Matteo Jorgenson, Quinn Simmons or Magnus Sheffield. The latter will also target success in a race against the clock together with Brandon McNulty.
USA Men elite lineup for World Championships:
Lawson Craddock, Matteo Jorgenson, Brandon McNulty (only time trial), Neilson Powless, Sean Quinn, Magnus Sheffield (both races) and Quinn Simmons
Women's team's biggest name is former World ITT Champion Chloé Dygert who will take on both races. Kristen Faulkner will be another ride to keep an eye on during the Time Trial, while Megan Jastrab will try to win the U23 title awarded to the best U23 finisher in elite race.
USA Women elite lineup for World Championships:
Chloé Dygert (both races), Veronica Ewers, Kristen Faulkner (only Time Trial), Heidi Franz, Megan Jastrab (U23), Coryn Labecki, Amber Neben (only Time Trial), Skylar Schneider and Lauren Stephens
United States will have a big favourite to take the rainbow stripes in U23 race with 20-years old sprinter Luke Lamperti. The Trinity Racing rider has already collected eight victories in 2023 and is heavily rumoured to be on his way to WT team next year.
USA Men U23 lineup for World Championships:
