Maryland Cycling Classic organiser pleased with addition of Astana and Cofidis to the startlist: "It's a boost for American cycling"

Astana Qazaqstan Team and Cofidis become latest additions to biggest UCI event in United States, the Maryland Cycling Classic. Both teams will take this race as an opportunity to grab extra UCI points in a week ahead of Canadian classics. Especially the Kazakh squad will want to use this chance to improve their 2023 record.

"The Maryland Cycling Classic, presented by UnitedHealthcare, continues to attract elite teams as it enters its second year," said Terry Hasseltine, president of the Sport & Entertainment Corp. of Maryland (SECMD).

"The addition of two teams currently competing in the Tour de France gives the event and our civic and corporate partners tremendous momentum heading toward race weekend. It's a boost for American cycling and its fans."
