Tadej Pogacar: "Jonas Vingegaard and I are marking each other; it will be like this for the remainder of the Tour de France"

Despite Tadej Pogacar trying a cheeky attack early on stage 10 of the 2023 Tour de France, when all was said and done, the time gap between the Slovenian and overall race leader Jonas Vingegaard remains the same.

"I thought we would have an easier day today," said the UAE Team Emirates leader in his post-stage interview. That was not the case however as the temperature and the speed of the racing combined for another brutally challenging day. "Maybe I lack experience and there are still some things I’m yet to learn. It has been one of the toughest stages of the Tour de France so far. I’m very happy it’s over."

Throughout the stage, never was Pogacar seen without Vingegaard close in tow or vice-versa. Going forward, the Slovenian is predicting this kind of cat-and-mouse, tactical racing between the pair to continue.

"Jonas and I are marking each other; it will be like this for the remainder of the Tour de France," concludes the two-time former Tour de France winner.
