Lotto Dstny set to lose another two important riders as budget uncertainties tie their hands

Lotto Dstny is on a good way to recover its WorldTour license for the next cycle, but the team around young talents Arnaud De Lie, Maxim Van Gils and Lennert Van Eetvelt will most likely lose another two important two figures after the deprature of the Victor Campenaerts.

Sylvain Moniquet is leaving after four years at Lotto for the team French Cofidis, who offered him a two-year contract, according to Het Nieuwsblad. In recent years, Moniquet developed into a consistent rider for smaller stage races like Tour of Slovakia, Tour de Hongrie, or Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. The 26-year-old's profile is exactly what Cofidis was lacking in their hunt for even more points as their WorldTour license is still not granted.

His Danish teammate Andreas Kron is high on the wish list of Uno-X Mobility. Kron is a former stage winner at Vuelta a Espana, where he also briefly featured in the red jersey in 2023. Lotto Dstny would like to make him an offer, but for the time being has no insight into the budget they will have available next year.

Instead of trying to win the bidding war for these riders, it seems that Lotto Dstny will take a different approach as the Belgian formation intends to bet on their homegrown talent. It's not only the abovementioned trio, but also their development brims with promising riders, lead by the U23 Giro winner Jarno Widar, who is set to promote to the main team in 2026.
