List of the best current pro riders by year of birth

With the UCI rankings already revealing quite well the most successful riders throughout the current year, a specific ranking has been made by Raúl Banqueri revealing the best-classified riders based on their year of birth throughout the 2023 season.

Created before Dwars door Vlaanderen, the graphic features the riders who've scored the most UCI points in 2023 from all years, with riders from 1982 to 2004. As pros in the current World Tour and Women's World Tour now span over 23 different years, it is telling. In 2004 for example the presence of Zoe Bäckstedt is already present, whilst in 1982 the rankings are led by Annemiek van Vleuten and Domenico Pozzovivo.

The graphic also reveals very clearly how most of the main figures in the current peloton were born in 1994 or before, with van Aert, van der Poel, Vingegaard, Pogacar, Pidcock and Evenepoel all mentioned as the best from their year of birth. The amount of points are better dispersed in the women's field with van Vleuten, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio and Amanda Spratt among the best riders in the peloton, born after 1987.
