Kris Vancoillie is a name unknown within cycling but most cycling fans have seen him last week in highlight on the cobbled classics. The Belgian fan was one of the spectators who was hit by a motorbike at the Oude Kwaremont during last week's
E3 Saxo Classic, and he's shared his side of the story in a recent interview.
“My shoulder was dislocated and broken in two places, I had a bruised rib and my eye socket was completely swollen,” Vancoillie told Het Nieuwsblad. “In itself I don't blame the motorcyclist, but in hindsight he did of course commit a hit and run. We had to track him down using CCTV footage to get the insurance papers in order.”
