Julian Alaphilippe has returned to good form at long last. Away from injuries and illnesses, he showed strong form at Tirreno-Adriatico, and now he leads Soudal - Quick-Step at Milano-Sanremo.
The former World champion finished second on one of the hilltop finished in the Italian race, and will be eager to show off his form in Sanremo. The 2019 winner will look to explode the race on the Poggio di Sanremo and the Belgian team will be supporting him with a lineup filled with the cobbled classics experts. The block is building up towards Flandres but should have high ambitions here.
Kasper Asgreen could be an outsider for the race. Yves Lampaert, Florian Sénéchal, Davide Ballerini and Tim Declercq will provide crucial support when it comes to positioning until the final decisive moments of the race. Dries Devenyns will most likely be the Frenchman's main support for the ascents.
