Tom Dumoulin, the former winner of the 2017 Giro d'Italia, and retired rider since last season is enjoying his new career as a cycling analyst at the dutch channel NOS. But now he will also be present at the finish of some races and wind his commentary performances to the fields.
"I will do the spring classics, like the Amstel Gold Race and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. And I will be at the Tour for a week or two. I'm looking forward to it. Whether I have followed much cycling since retirement? Yes quite a lot. And what I find very striking is that there has really been a professionalization.", Dumoulin revelead.
Despite still being relatively young, 32 years old, and retiring only last season, Dumoulin hasn't been riding much on his bike, just in a recreational way, so the possibility of a return to the professional races doesn't seem it will ever materialize.
"I haven't ridden much lately, but that's because the weather has been bad. I'm looking forward to getting back on the bike. I can't wait.", he concluded.
