INEOS Grenadiers a strong contender to sign Carlos Verona at the end of 2023

Spanish veteran Carlos Verona is one of the first transfer rumours into the 2024 season. The Movistar rider ends his contract with the Spanish team at the end of the year and it is reported that he may join INEOS Grenadiers next season.

According to the always well-informed Ciro Scognamiglio of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the rider from Madrid could leave the team in 2024 and, according to his sources, one of the options on the table is INEOS Grenadiers.

So, according to the Italian reporter, the deal is by no means closed and this is an option on the rider's table. Verona, 30, finishes contract at the end of 2023 with a Movistar team to which he arrived in 2019 from Michelton-Scott (now Jayco AlUla) and has been one of the most important riders of the telephone squad since then.

He's raced at a high level in Vuelta a España and Tour de France in aid of Alejandro Valverde and Enric Mas and getting a victory in Dauphiné last year. We'll see what happens with his future, it would be a significant loss for the Spanish team who looks to build a block around Enric Mas.
