The Tour de France Femmes has returned to the road this year in what was a massive achievement for women's cycling, an event which proved incredibly popular. A
The race had it's longest period in action between the years of 1984 and 1993, in which French rider Jeannie Longo won the GC three times, and won 24 stages. This, alongside the many World championships and countless other titles, has saw her jump into a legendary status in the race. "Absolutely insane that Jeannie Longo was fêted at the Tour de France Femmes. I /literally/ sold this woman's husband EPO intended for her! What a joke," said Joe Papp, now a politician in his home country the USA, on Twitter.
"This is insane. I'm genuinely astounded, having only just learned of this. Hopefully, Lance Armstrong is invited back to LeTour for 2023!" The accusations did not see a response, however stirred commotion in the American cycling community.
