Marianne Vos won the second stage of the Tour of Scandinavia. It was her second victory in the tour. She narrowly clinched the stage victory against Emilia Fahlin in the sprint.
"It was a very difficult sprint because we arrived in the village at high speed," said Vos. She continues, "There, it was quite technical with the corners, and Trek-Segafredo made a good move there. They escaped at 1 km from the finish, went on well, and had a gap.”
Vos was initially not in the best position for the sprint since she was lacking the team formation, but she once again showed everyone who is the boss. “I hesitated to close it because I knew it would be difficult. But I had to go, and I took my chances. Emilia Fahlin passed me really fast, and it was really close in the sprint, but it's great to get my second win,” said Vos.
She concludes with, "It was a lot of turning and turning through villages and forests, but there were no long roads that were good for fans. So everyone was looking at each other. In the final, the tempo was just high. I like the race here. It's nice to be here, and there's a good atmosphere." Vos continues to lead in the general classification and has a lead of over 14 seconds against her closest rival.
