Jumbo-Visma put on a show on the opening weekend, winning Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. Former cyclists,
Lance Armstrong and
Johan Bruyneel weren't indifferent to that exhibition and commented about it in their podcast The Move.
"In the Omloop and Kuurne, you saw the dominance of Jumbo-Visma. I am afraid it will block the races. Everyone knows they are very strong and all the weight is going to come to them. They put their mark on the race and the rest had to fight to stay in front. If we see that performance, and then even without Wout van Aert, I'm afraid it's going to be like that all spring", said Bruyneel.

"Wout is perhaps in the most difficult situation. He can mainly win when it's between the big favorites, like Van der Poel and Pogacar. While Van Baarle and the company are in a situation where they can follow the earlier attacks. That's a great transfer anyway, Van Baarle. That immediately makes a statement", said Bruyneel.
Still, the former Belgian cyclist warns Jumbo-Visma riders: "They are in a great situation, but beware: you don't pay attention for one moment and half your team can go to ground in these races", he concluded.
