Nairo Quintana's agent casts doubt on cyclist's return to the peloton- "At the moment there is nothing certain about his future"

As we enter the third month of the year, the much-awaited signing of Nairo Quintana, who has been linked with multiple teams in recent weeks, remains shrouded in uncertainty, with no official statement or update regarding his eventual destination having been made thus far.

His agent Giuseppe Acquadro has conveyed that he is currently in the process of looking for a new team."At the moment, I can't say anything,” he told El Tiempo. He continues, "The truth is that at the moment there is nothing certain about his future. I can say that we are working on it and we believe that something will happen in the space of two months.”

The Colombian cyclist's search for a new team has been made more challenging by Movement for Credible Cycling's ban on its member teams from signing him, following his positive test for tramadol during the 2022 Tour de France.

He is focusing on other teams outside of the MPCC."The Movement for Credible Cycling has its own rules and the teams that are part of it follow them. However, there are other formations that are not part of the MPCC and these are the options for Quintana. The UCI also has its own rules and there is no of veto against Quintana. Nairo is a free cyclist, he has not tested positive for doping and has no problem. According to the regulations, he can race and he can do it in any team," concluded Acquadro.
