Ethan Hayter wins Tour de Pologne as Arnaud Démare conquers final bunch sprint

The Tour de Pologne has had it's end today in Krakow, as Arnaud Démare finally managed to storm to the win he's been chasing all week for Groupama - FDJ, as Ethan Hayter arrived safely in the peloton and sealed the overall win.

Alessandro De Marchi (Israel - Premier Tech), Julius Johansen (Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux), Jarrad Drizners (Lotto Soudal) and Syver Waersted (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team) went up the road early on to carry the hopes of a surprise win. Altough having been given the freedom, the group could no withstand the intense chasing that came from the peloton.

De Marchi went solo with 22 kilometers to go, joined by Nans Peters as the Frenchman attacked with 13 kilometers to go, however both were caught just outside the final five kilometers as the sprinter teams set it up for their leaders.

It was a complicated run-up to the line as teams could not have a strong leadout, with the leaders having to launch early, Pascal Ackermann doing so first and then loosing positions, Arnaud Démare managed to time his move to perfection to return to his winning ways. He beat Olav Kooij and Phil Bauhaus to the line. Hayter arrived in the peloton to confirm his yellow jersey.
