EF Education-EasyPost begins to suffer relegation pressure as Lotto Soudal steadily pile on points

A new update has came on the UCI points rankings and it reveals Lotto Soudal starting to edge closer to maintenance, as some teams struggle to get valuable points - and EF Education-EasyPost are now the target as the American team struggles to bring in the points in a complicated 2022.
The update from Raúl Banqueri shows a smaller gap between Lotto Soudal and EF Education-Easy-Post - now at only 768 points - after Florian Vermeersch took a strong win at Antwerp Port Epic. Whilst the Belgian team are unlikely to score big points with the end of the Giro d'Italia, the American team who were expected to benefit from Hugh Carthy's GC ambitions won't aswell as Carthy sits in 18th place ahead of the final week of racing.
Lotto have scored so far in 2022 triple the points of EF Education, with even Israel - Premier Tech scoring 800 more points, also putting them in range of an attack later on in the season. Noticeably in the ranking is also apparent the rise of TotalEnergies after Julien Simon won both GP du Morbihan and the Tour de Finistère - putting them very close to the first place out of the teams provisionally at Pro Team level for 2023.
In the following update there will be the addition of the Giro d'Italia points, with GC and other classifications set to make a diffence - although perhaps not much towards the bottom of the ranking.

Over the course of his career, he has conducted approximately 100 interviews across road cycling and cyclocross, ranging from one-to-one conversations and online formats to press conferences and on-site pre- and post-race coverage. His interviews include leading riders, team managers, and prominent figures within cycling media: Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Mathieu van der Poel, Primoz Roglic, Wout van Aert, Joao Almeida and Tom Pidcock; managers like Patrick Lefevere and Joxean Matxin; and YouTube personality Bryan Kennedy (BKXC)...

leedorney07-11-2026 - The road from Holyrood to Edinburgh Castle is a nice steady climb of just over a mile that is cobbled in many parts. (Very slippery if wet!) - It would be great if the World Champion's jersey could be rotated among McNulty, Simmons, and Jorgenson. They threaded the needle perfectly. If each hadn't done exactly what he did, exactly when he did it, the race would have gone to one of the more heralded superstars. That said, how nice that this humble and hardworking guy gets his moment in the sun.

- Hmmm, you seem to have a very convenient black and white view of things. Perhaps you haven’t been around much to discover how complex problems can become over time with people who know how to control, manipulate (or worse) others so gradually or subtly that you arrive at an irresolvable situation before you realise. This is how many inconveniences get introduced to the young, naïve, passionate or “desperate”, knowing they are not armed, protected or strong enough to defend themselves once it’s too late. Why do you think omerta culture is so widespread, why do you think so many people continue to go through so many awful things in life that others can’t understand anyone getting into? Relegation battle update: Lotto Soudal continues to close the gap thanks to Florian Vermeersch's victory at the Antwerp Port Epic. EF is already on the edge of the relegation zone and there is no sign of any kind of reaction from the team in the hunt for UCI points.
