Chris Froome continues Tirreno-Adriatico despite crash and hand injuries on stage 2

Chris Froome put in a better time than the likes of Richard Carapaz and Cian Uijtdebroeks at Tirreno-Adriatico's initial time-trial, but the optimism quickly took a hit. The Israel - Premier Tech rider crashed on stage 2 but has ruled out fractures.

"Day started off well but didn’t end the way I would have hoped. I’m strapped up and ready to take on the day. Wish me luck," the Briton wrote in an Instagram post. Froome crashed throughout the stage and suffered an injury to the left wrist. He was taken for check up following the stage but luckily no fractures were found. He finished the stage four minutes back alongside teammates Simon Clarke and Mads Wurtz, and can possibly still test his form in the mountainous stages later in the race.
