Biniam Girmay kicked off his season by coming in third in the Trofeo Alcúdia, but later spoke out about his dissatisfaction with the course.
"This was not a sprint," he told Cyclingpronet after the race. The sprint did not consist of large number of riders. "In the future, we don't need to have turns like this again. Left, right. Left, right."

The conditions were not up to his standards,"Especially with this wet road surface. What should I say about my performance? I didn't really sprint," said Girmay.
He touched on his fitness and the feelings of being back on the track. "And with the team, it's also good. There is a good atmosphere, and everyone is super-motivated. Yesterday we won. I'm pretty happy," concluded the Eritrean rider.
