Alexander Kristoff has for some weeks been in the middle of an interest battle, with several teams interested in his services for 2023. In Norwegian media it has already been reported that Kristoff has an agreement with Uno-X Pro Cycling Team.
It had been said that he was in advanced negotiations with his current team Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux, however he had also mentioned the importance of the contract he'd sign for the upcoming season. "In any case, this is an important decision for me. I'm at the end of my career and this may soon be the last contract I sign," he said recently. Kristoff is now said to have agreed on a move to Uno-X Pro Cycling Team, TV 2 has said.
Kristoff had said in an interview about the rumours of a move to the country's top team: "It's hard for me to say. It is a small level down compared to where I am now, but at the same time it is impressive to see what they have achieved. They have shown themselves very well and do not get lost in big races like the Critérium du Dauphiné. So it's definitely an exciting alternative". Now, it seems like a done deal. The 34-year old has won three races this season including an impressie solo win at Scheldeprijs, and is currently without a contract for the coming season as he only signed a one-year contract with Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux.
The veteran will be riding the upcoming Tour de France where judging by the form he's shown this year alongside an efficient leadout, he will be in contention for the sprint stages aswell as the fifth stage into Arenberg.
