Kata Blanka Vas "had to fight hard" on victorious return to cyclocross

Kata Blanka Vas won her first cross in Belgium with victory in Kermiscross Ardooie. She beat Shirin van Anrooij in the final lap and crossed the finish line first to mark her victory.
"It looked like this win was easy," Vas said in the post-race interview. She continues, "But it wasn't. I had to fight hard. The others didn't let me go. Only on my 3rd attempt, just before we entered the asphalt again, and when Shirin van Anrooij made a mistake, I was able to get away."
The track was muddy thanks to the rain, but it was not an obstacle for our winner on the opposite side it gave her an advantage over other riders. "Fortunately, there was only one real tough zone. The rest of the course was slippery and technical, which suited me better," concluded Vas.
