#Crash for Van Vleuten 🇳🇱 and Longo Borghini 🇮🇹. 🤯 #GiroDonne #GiroDonne23
After all that has happened in the cycling world recently, there has much talk of how to make descents safer. It seems these discussions may be brought up once again after stage 5 of the 2023 Giro d'Italia Donne.
Descending from the final categorised climb of the day towards the finish line, the pace was high and the chase was on for the riders. Both Annemiek van Vleuten and Elisa Longo Borghini crashed with the Italian's being particularly scary.
Thankfully both riders were able to remount and finish the stage, with van Vleuten even finishing second, unable to chase down the winner of the stage, Antonia Niedermaier.
