The past week has seen lots of racing and with that, lots of opportunities to change the outlook of the UCI rankings when it comes to the teams. With the Tour de Pologne, Vuelta a Burgos, Tour de l'Ain and Arctic Race of Norway all ending in the past few days, we see a few teams gain important points in their respective fights.
You can check the previous update. UAE Team Emirates - XRG were the only team to score over 1000 points over this past update and that doesn't come as a surprise taking into consideration how they have conquered the Tour de Pologne with Brandon McNulty and the Vuelta a Burgos with Isaac del Toro - continuing their incredible set of victories that could lead to several records getting broken before the season is over.
When it comes to the relegation fight only one team managed to score big points over this past week, and it's also the team that was best placed out of them: XDS Astana Team, who saw the likes of Alberto Bettiol, Lorenzo Fortunato and Christian Scaroni all scoring good points over different races. With the 565 points they add to their tally, they are able to create a 1300-point buffer over Intermarché - Wanty whilst Team Picnic PostNL has about 800 points of lead over the Belgian team. Intermarché continues to sit in 18th place, having to defend itself from Cofidis and Uno-X Mobility.
However, none of these teams scored big points and the standings remain rather equal. There are about 1100 and 1600 points separating Intermarché from the French and Norwegian teams respectively.
