Antonia Niedermaier holds off Van Vleuten in dramatic finale to stage 5 of the Giro d'Italia Donne

Antonia Niedermaier took a brilliant win on stage 5 of the Giro d'Italia Donne, holding off Annemiek van Vleuten in a dramatic finale.
Stage 5, a potentially decisive day at the midway part of the 2023 Giro d'Italia Donne. Overall leader, Annemiek van Vleuten was once again at the fore of all the action. Even crashing momentarily with around 7km to go.
Having remounted, the chase was on to catch Antonia Niedermaier in the final rise to the line. Van Vleuten couldn't quite bridge the gap, giving Niedermaier the victory, the biggest of her career.
