Astana Qazaqstan Team's
Alexey Lutsenko has recently suffered a crash whilst on an altitude training camp. The incident has left him with a broken collarbone and shoulder, which will put him out of the Ardennes classics in which he was training for.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Lutsenko has shared footage recorded from his teammate Samuele Battistella who was riding with him at the time. The Italian's GoPro footage reveals the Kazakh was riding down a descent at Mount Teide, Tenerife, on his time-trial bike when apparently a gust of wind took out his front wheel, causing both riders to crash.
The Lutsenko has said "it's a pity to miss important races again. I'm sure I'll come back stronger". He has in the meantime had surgery on the injuries he sustained, and will be having a recovery period before beginning his preparation for the Tour de France.
