The bad weather has caused changes in the Vuelta a Espana once more. The final 3.6 kilometers of stage 2 will be neutralized in terms of time - not stage win - and the times will be taken at the summit of the final climb.
"Given the current weather situation and having applied the weather protocol, the times for the general classification will be taken at the Alto del Castillo de Monjuic 3.6 km from the finish line," race organizers have said in an official statement. "The bonuses at the top of Montjuic and at the finish line will be maintained. The classification of the stage will be the one given when crossing the line."
UPDATE: Race organizers have changed once more the setup for the day. Due to the technical nature of the run-up to the final climb, it has been decided that the times for the overall classification will be taken with 9 kilometers to go.
